Mentorship Experience

“A mentor is someone who allows you to see the hope inside yourself.”                                                   — Oprah Winfrey

Seed House Project believes that our youth thrive best with, in addition to transitional housing and job placement, mentorship from a qualified individual with particular expertise in the youth’s area of interest. The lasting bond that results is designed in hopes of changing the lives of both mentor and mentee.

Our mentors are successful, visionary leaders within their given industry. They are individually selected and paired with mentees for whom their professional and personal lifestyles align; a mentee with whom they can form lifelong bonds rooted in positive support and creative development. Each mentor undergoes orientation and training to learn to provide successful mentorship to our youth and employs a variety of techniques for guiding them toward personal, professional, and spiritual growth.

Mentors guide our youth through our “12 Step Plan to Realizing Your Vision,” facilitate the establishment of a dream journal, have weekly meetings with each youth to provide support, and provide goal-oriented leadership to aid the successful transition into adulthood. Our mentors work to equip each youth with the tools they need to succeed while providing inspired, consistent advocacy.
