Project HOME is Seed House Project’s 2019 Capital Campaign to create our first housing facility and programming for transition age women experiencing homelessness in the Los Angeles Area.
From 2010 to 2017, Los Angeles County has witnessed a 42% rise in homelessness, with counts escalating from 38,700 to a startling 55,000 in 2017. Every night, over 3000 young people sleep on the streets, 31% of whom are TAY aging out of foster care and 62% of whom are TAY aging out of the juvenile justice system.
Although the numbers in Los Angeles decreased from in 2018, there is much work to be done. Seed House Project aims to alleviate homelessness in the TAY community by providing a success-driven live/work space, access to education and job training, and individualized mentorship.
Our 2019 Capital Campaign PROJECT HOME will allow for our signature programming to expand into OUR FIRST ALL WOMEN’S LIVE/WORK SPACE. Seed House Project currently offers housing for TAY young men, and we are excited to expand our impact by creating homes for all individuals in the TAY community experiencing homelessness.
Mission: To raise $40,000 by November 2019 for Seed House Project to open our first transitional housing space for women, which includes access to our signature mentorship program, educational and job skills training, and Save A Penny partner program.
